It is designed to support individuals who have complex disabilities to live independently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The fund was closed to new applicants for a long time, but re-opened in April 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You can apply for the fund if you meet the following Access Principles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You live in Scotland.<\/li>\n<li>You are aged 16 years or over at the time of application.<\/li>\n<li>You access Self-Directed Support.<\/li>\n<li>You receive a net weekly budget of at least \u00a3800 per week. (From 27 January 2025, applications can be submitted where the budget is less than \u00a3800 but more than \u00a3485 if the applicant receives significant care from a resident unpaid carer, without which, the \u00a3800 budget would be met.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applications to the Independent Living Fund are made by your local council&#8217;s social work department, on your behalf.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/ilf.scot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independent Living Fund website<\/a> for more information on the fund and how to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Transition Fund<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The ILF Scotland Transition Fund is available to help young disabled people between the ages of 16 and 25.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It is designed to help with the transition from leaving school or children\u2019s services.
